About
The non-profit The Embery Institute for Wildlife Conservation was created by Joan Embery to broaden the reach of her conservation message through education and to support the work of key organizations both locally and globally. Serving as President and Chairman of the Board, Joan works with a talented Board of Directors to present educational events featuring Joan and her Animal Ambassadors, train volunteers in animal care, and support local and international hands-on environmental programs and more. |
Education
To fulfill the Institute's goal of educating and motivating the public, Joan and a dedicated team of volunteers care for a collection of animal ambassadors who travel widely to appear at public events. Meet the Animal Ambassadors!

Volunteer
Our goal is to give students exposure to the challenges and daily demands of maintaining a captive collection of wildlife. From preparing diets, record keeping, maintenance, point compliance, animal handling and training, and public presentations, students can hone their skills and become more aware and better prepared to pursue their educational and career goals. It takes a team and everyone can play an important role in helping to achieve our conservation and education goals. Our volunteers range from high school students to senior citizens, all of them have a passion for animals and nature.

"Today we are challenged to determine the fate of animal life on our planet and the delicate balance of natural resources. Decisions we make today will determine the health of our world and the future of all its inhabitants. We humans have the ability to define our future quality of life and the fate of those without a voice. Everyone can participate in this endeavor to preserve our natural world and its incredible beauty and diversity. Working together we can help insure a healthy planet for both humans and animals." ~ Joan Embery
