Joan Embery
Conservationist • Public Speaker • Equestrian
Few people in the world are as dedicated to the preservation of wildlife and the environment as Joan Embery.
For the majority of her life she has worked with animals, championing the need for preservation and the protection of diminishing habitats. Millions of people around the world have enjoyed her public appearances on TV - often with amazing animals - and in person at countless nonprofit fundraisers. She is also an accomplished equestrian and trainer. She and her husband Duane own the Pillsbury Ranch in Lakeside, San Diego where they offer event rentals, horse boarding and more. Between spending time with her animals, riding, hosting, leading travel excursions and making appearances, Joan serves as President and Chairman of the Board of The non-profit Embery Institute for Wildlife Conservation which supports specific conservation and research programs in the United States and several other countries.
"Today we are challenged to determine the fate of animal life on our planet and the delicate balance of natural resources. Decisions we make today will determine the health of our world and the future of all its inhabitants. We humans have the ability to define our future quality of life and the fate of those without a voice. Join us in this endeavor to preserve our natural world and its incredible beauty and diversity. Working together we can help insure a healthy planet for both humans and animals". ~ Joan Embery
