Rainbow                                                                                                Rainbow Boa Constrictor

Picture
Rainbow boa constrictors (Epicrates cenchria) are so called because the reflection of light off their scales creates a rainbow effect.  Found in tropical forests of Central and South America, these beautiful snakes are nocturnal and eat small mammals, birds, lizards and frogs.  They sleep in trees or bushes during the day.
