Joan with Trundle the Ardvark

Trundle the aardvark spends most of his day sleeping because he is nocturnal. Although I have been to Africa on safari a dozen times, I have never seen an aardvark in the wild. They are called African earth pigs and are amazing diggers. Using their flexible snout and powerful clawed feet they can dig with incredible strength and speed making tunnels as long as 40 feet underground. They venture out of their underground burrows after dark to forage for termites and grubs using their large ears to hear potential predators such as lions and leopards.
