Tae is a Slow Loris native to South East Asia. Little is known of their habits in the wild because they are nocturnal and arboreal. It is difficult to even find one in the wild. Native people know very little about these unusual prosimians (primative primates). They have human like hands and large eyes, giving them an ET look. Lorises define their territories by scent marking tree branches. Most of what is known about lorises has come from studying them in captivity. Tae gets his name from his slow deliberate movement but can move quickly when threatened. There are also pygmy lorises and slender lorises. |
